Michelle McGowan - Broker/Owner
Michelle McGowan, widely known as "Michelle the Mover," is a proud native of Southeast Texas with over 30 years of active community involvement. She is passionate about serving her community and helping individuals and families achieve their real estate dreams. As the Owner, Broker, and Realtor of Key2Close Realty, Michelle exemplifies hard work, integrity, and outstanding client service in every transaction.
With a special focus on first-time homebuyers, Michelle is dedicated to turning homeownership dreams into reality. She founded the SETX First Time Homebuyer Hub to provide the education and resources needed to navigate the homebuying journey.
Michelle holds the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) accreditation, which allows her to specialize in representing homebuyers with greater expertise, and the MRP (Military Relocation Professional) certification, which equips her to assist military families with their unique relocation needs. These designations provide Michelle with specialized knowledge and tools to serve her clients in the best way possible.
Before embarking on her real estate career, Michelle excelled as a Human Resources Leader across industries such as retail, pulp and paper, and oil and energy. Her expertise in negotiations, training, business strategy, leadership, and customer service has become the foundation of her success in real estate. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lamar University.

Carissa Wheeler - Realtor
Born and raised in Kountze, Carissa is a true Southeast Texan, intimately familiar with Hardin County and its surrounding areas. Her deep love for the community shines through in her active involvement with her home church and various community outreach programs.
For 16 years, Carissa co-owned and operated a successful salon in Lumberton with her best friend. During this time, she built lasting relationships with many local residents who became cherished clients and friends. Her extensive experience in the service industry has honed her ability to attentively cater to clients' needs and prioritize their satisfaction. Known for her compassion and integrity, Carissa values honesty and authenticity in all her business dealings.
Carissa's passion for refurbishing furniture, remodeling, and house flipping naturally led her to a career in real estate. Her keen attention to detail allows her to identify hidden gems in the property market. Alongside her husband, she has embraced the DIY lifestyle, remodeling their entire home and tackling numerous projects together. In 2018, they built a small home salon, enabling Carissa to work part-time while homeschooling their daughter, Abbi.
In her free time, Carissa enjoys being outdoors, whether she's gardening, tending to her chickens and plants, or spending time at the lake swimming and fishing. Family time in nature is where she finds her greatest joy.
Carissa feels incredibly blessed to serve Southeast Texas in all things real estate, believing that God has guided her journey every step of the way. She gives all the praise to God for her success and opportunities.
